Kid Cadaver + Frankie Siragusa
2020 sees the long overdue debut collaboration of LA-based indie artists Kid Cadaver & Frankie Siragusa. This likely combination was formed when Frankie Siragusa and Raymond Venta (Kid Cadaver’s sole songwriter/singer) began writing together inbetween Kid Cadaver recording sessions back in 2015. Frankie Siragusa was Kid Cadaver’s sole producer for most of their releases.
From 2013 to 2019, Kid Cadaver amassed an eager following of both fans and critics alike, holding top spots on local radio countdowns (KROQ, Alt 98.7) for consecutive single releases, and have been featured on Showtime’s top rated program “Shameless”. Their style was referred to as “infectious” by LA Weekly and often earned them comparisons to bands like Tokyo Police Club, stars of the mid-to-late 2000s indie airwaves.
Ray Venta is known for writing wistful, melodic songs that carry a more introspective, controlled approach to songwriting than some of Kid Cadaver’s contemporaries. The group has released 3 EP’s (Self-Titled, Roam, & Delude) along side a handful of singles to date.
Frankie Siragusa, in addition to producing and running his own LA-based recording studio, theLAB Studio, is also a multi-instrumentalist session musician and drummer of Seattle-based rock group The Posies. He has also collaborated with a wide range of artists such as Reggie Watts, The Watson Twins, Peter Morén, Avi Buffalo, among many others. When he isn’t working with other artists, Frankie also enjoys a solo career of his own having released a full length self-titled record in 2010, and recently an EP titled “From Deep Blue To Shallow Gold”.
“Interesting In July”, the first EP from the Kid Cadaver + Frankie Siragusa collaboration, releases May 29th 2020, and includes the new single “If You’re Listening”.
